Dev

Devin Star Tailes found fame with her DJ crew, The Cataracs, in Far East Movement's "Like a G6" in November 2010. Before that, she created her own beats and posted them on MySpace.

Her debut album, The Night the Sun Came Up, was released overseas in September 2011 and was due for a US debut in November, but got held up so that she could rework some songs. The American debut is scheduled for sometime in March. Until then, she's released some official videos on her Vevo page, but the following songs seem destined to be number 1s.

Skylar Grey

Skylar Grey has been singing since the age of 2, but now, at 25, may be ready for the world. Formerly singing as Holly Brook, she'd been working behind the scenes, writing songs and independently releasing her own.

On June 10, 2010, she independently released her O'Dark:Thirty EP, a preview of a future full-length album, which may have been pulled due to her signing (O-dark thirty is military slang for the early hours before dawn).

She's since signed with Interscope (March 10, 2011), after a successful contribution to the chorus of Eminem's Love the Way You Lie (released June 8, 2010).

Invinsible, her debut album as Skylar Grey (produced by Alex Da Kid), is due to be released in the fall. She has two previous albums available on the Amazon MP3 store: Holly Brook EP (2005) and Like Blood Like Honey (2006), and two songs: Dance Without You (released June 14, 2011) and Invisible (due to be released July 19, 2011).

She's also featured on the songs Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco, I Need a Doctor by Dr. Dre, and Coming Home by Diddy-Dirty Money. Her demo of Love the Way You Lie is available on Youtube.

O'Dark:Thirty is not available for purchase, but it can be found online.

Fever Ray and The Knife

The Knife is a Swedish band who has been around forever and won a ton of awards. Fever Ray is Karin Andersson's (one half of The Knife) solo project. Videos follow.

Note that all of their videos share the same themes. Some examples: masks, symbolic language, man's place in nature.

Mt Eden Hide and Seek

Here's his remix of Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek, which I like much better than the original.

Stefani Before Gaga

The Lady Gaga Forum has a post with links to the AAC and MP3 files of the unreleased Stefani Germanotta Band - Red And Blue EP (2006),or you can watch them on Miqui212's YouTube channel. I like the songs here better than her pop stuff. Hopefully she formally releases this or gets back to it someday.

This is now a house music blog.

There's no allmusic or wikipedia page on Crookers, but a google search turned up this informative article with video below.
